Cursed City: Captain Emelda Braskov

Painting metal (NMM, Non-Metalic Metal) is always difficult for me, especially, you do not see it in real, just using the imagination with best guess. This time, I want to paint the mini in very dark mood as in my other painted miniatures in Cursed City. I usually use some hint of blue or brown to paint metal to reflect the surrounding, but this time, I base coated in blue and brown then applied only black and white. Of course, I didn't cover the base-coat to show some hint of blue and brown.

Brush on priming:

Base-coating blue and brown mostly.

Switching to oil paints, start the reflected area using black and white mixture (light grey).

Applying black and white (dark grey). I tried not to cover the base-coat entirely intentionally to let brown undercoat be seen slightly.

Starting on the feather in the shoulder, sword, and the face of the mini.

To be more interesting, I draw a blue tatoo in the face to give some toughness to the character.

Slightly being tired, instead of the decoration, I just draw some aura-like effect on the base. This is much easier if you use heavy body acrylic paints. First apply any blue somewhat thickly, then carefully brush with small amount of white.

Took a photo with other miniatures in the Cursed City package.
