Gobbapalooza Boggleye
Published by Mulgam,
Gobbapalooza Boggleye. It has two challenging areas; one is the fume generator attached in the staff with the smoke, and the another one is the spiral dazzling eyes.
This time, I just mix a little of brown acrylic paints to the Gesso to produce muted neutral color on the surface.
Usually, I started with the eyes, which is the most difficult one to paint as it's hard to fix it if all other area are already painted. It's too small so I couldn't able to draw a line, but stipple the brush to connect each dot for a spiral line.
This is a photo of colorful smoke from the Internet as a reference: https://wallpapercave.com/wp/imFMLyD.jpg
Almost white highlight on the fume generator.
The overall tone of this mini is somewhat darker than my other Gobbapalooza miniatures. To balance with them, I painted glowing mushroom to compensate brightness.
After I applied matte varnish on the mini, I realize that the intensity of the blackness of the base is too dull. I blended Oxide Red to make it pop up, and applied gloss varnish for the deep blackness.
