Gobbapalooza Scaremonger

Gobbapalooza Scaremonger. It consists of two goblins, up and down, and the below one is carrying the exoskeleton of Squig. This exoskelton provide partial view of the inside goblin, which is almost impossible to paint if you fully assemble it. So I had to prime and paint partially before assembling.

I don't want to wait for a long time of the unassembled pieces, so I switched to my favorite acrylic paint, Golden Open Acrylics. I don't need to paint in details as most of the surface will be hidden by the Squig skeleton.

Painting the bone inside, I don't care the subtle hue difference of these as it will be not visible easily.

Now, it's fully assembled. It's the time to prepare my oil paints

Applied Burnt Umber wash, then blending Zinc white for the highlight.

I wanted intense red on the mask, so I used Cadmium Red Light and Dark, Alizarine Crimson, and a little of Ultramarine.

For the base, I used a piece of Black Kyanite Crystal, glazed with Williamsburg Interference colors. It's my first time to try them. They are very unique in the sense of the reflection. It looks like Vallejo shifting paints or Greenstuff World's chameleon paints, but they don't change the hue on the light. Instead they provide a single constant color on the certain reflection angle.
